Teacher Trainers

Perihan Çayirezmez    

Perihan Çayırezmez graduated from Middle East Technical University, Foreign Language Education, English Language Teaching Department. She has an M.A degree on Foreign Language Teaching from Hacettepe University. Also, she holds an E-Moderation Certificate from The Consultants-E.

Perihan Çayırezmez has been in the field of ELT for 20 years. In addition to teaching, she has taken on other responsibilities, such as working as a curriculum and test advisor, a team leader, a mentor. She took part in EAQUALS (The European Association for Quality Language Service) accreditation committee as a Preparatory Program Curriculum Advisor. She was also a member of the steering committee of CEA, Commission on English Language Program Accreditation. Currently, she is working as a teacher and a teacher trainer in the English Language Programs Preparatory School at İstanbul Bilgi University (İBU). In addition, she is a Pedagogical Consultant at IBU, Distance Education Center (UZEM). She has been designing and teaching fully online and blended elective courses at GE (General Education) program and ELT courses at the department of English Language Teacher Education at İBU. She is one of the authors of teaching guide prepared by Bilgi Educational Effectiveness Center.

She believes in the idea of life-long learning. She is particularly interested in teacher education and development, online and face-to-face curriculum and material development, educational psychology, skills and strategy training and online teaching and course design. 

Sabri Ağirman

Sabri Ağırman has been working in the field of ELT for the last 25 years as an instructor and teacher trainer. He is currently a teacher trainer at the English Language Programs at Istanbul Bilgi University. He is particularly interested in teacher education and development, ESP (Legal English, Business English), vocabulary teaching, and in testing. He has given various INSETs, Seminars, and Workshops in both national and international conferences, various universities and high schools as well as in other language teaching institutions.

Sabri Ağırman acted as a committee member of the Teacher Training Center of Istanbul Bilgi University during the accreditation process for EAQUALS (The European Association for Quality Language Service) in 2004. In addition, he took part in the steering committee of CEA (The Commission on English Language Program Accreditation) between 2013 and 2015. He also participated in the creation of Bilgi Educational Effectiveness Guide for department instructors.

Z. Sinem Kasarcı

Sinem Kasarcı graduated from Hacettepe University, American Culture and Literature Department in 2003. She holds an M.A on English Language Teaching. She has CELTA and DELTA qualifications from Cambridge ESOL/International Training House.

She is an English teacher for 14 years and a teacher trainer since 2013. She is teaching both in English Preparatory Program, General Education Program and in the department of English Language Teaching. She has taken on different responsibilities as an instructor, lecturer, course designer, teacher trainer and e-moderator. She is a certified e-moderator from The-Consultant-E. She has given many workshops at different institutions.

Bilgi Preparatory Program has been accredited by The Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA) for 5 years. Sinem was one of the members of the steering committee who worked between 2013 and 2015 to get the accreditation. 

She is also working for Distance Education Center at Bilgi (UZEM) as a pedagogical consultant. She gives both face-to-face and online trainings on “online education and hybridity”.  She is one of the authors of Bilgi Educational Effectiveness Guide prepared by Teaching Excellence Center that serves all faculty members to reflect on their own teaching modalities.

She is particularly interested in online education, e-moderation, and designing blended and fully online courses.

Fatma Erden

Fatma Erden graduated from Istanbul University, English Language Teaching Department in 2002.She has ICELT qualification from International Training House and she took part in Teacher Trainer Education Program from SLTEP in 2014.

Fatma Erden has been working in the field for 16 years. She has taken on different responsibilities as an instructor, mentor and teacher trainer throughout her career. She has given workshops at Istanbul Bilgi University and IATEFL Conference in Birmingham in 2016.

She is interested in Teacher Education and Development, Learner Autonomy and Teacher Motivation.
